Our Mission
In the winter of 2026, Stephanie Poree had a dream--to open the only bookstore in Washington County, Wisconsin. Her daughter, Colette Poree, had the summer off after graduating college.
The two decided to make this dream a reality. Stephanie & Colette began to attend pop-ups and events all over the state of Wisconsin. But the goal was always bigger. Through intense work & the support of family, friends, and the community, The Book Nook storefront came to be.

Stephanie
Owner & Bookseller
Stephanie Poree is the Owner & Bookseller of The Book Nook. She grew up in Washington County, and has been an active member in the community her entire life! As a Hartford resident, Stephanie believes in providing affordable, easily-accessible literature for the entire county and beyond!
Pete
Colette
Social Media & Event Coordinator
Colette Poree is the Social Media, Marketing & Event Coordinator for The Book Nook. After graduating with an undergraduate degree, Colette has worked closely with Stephanie to bring TBN's vision to life through graphic design, photography, event planning, and community outreach. Colette is also a graduate student at Mount Mary University while helping run the business!
Supportive Husband, Maintenance, Girl Dad
Peter (Pete) Poree is the Husband of Stephanie & Dad of Colette. He is the supportive husband, girl dad, and maintenance afficionado of The Book Nook. Peter enjoys fishing, Magic the Gathering, and classic rock. And yes.. he does have a nametag!
Grandma Sue
Resident Grandma
Sue Becker is the mother of Stephanie & Grandmother of Colette. Sue has lived in Slinger, Wisconsin for over 40 years, and is the resident grandma of The Book Nook. Sue can often be found in "Grandma's Corner", reading thriller and mystery books and sipping on an ice cold Coca Cola (no ice needed!)
